Kimi no Todoke – 2nd season?

I recently saw a news article on Anime News Network hinting that there may be a 2nd season of the anime Kimi ni Todoke! During a live commentary the director Seiji Mizushima said that his assistant, director Kenji Nagasaki, is busy storyboarding more Kimi ni Todoke. He said, “Director Kenji Nagasaki said he didn’t want to come out in public, he’s busy with Kimi ni Todoke…. He’s now putting all his efforts into drawing the storyboards.” One can assume that this is for a second season of the anime which is perfect timing as the live-action version of Kimi ni Todoke will open in Japan on September 25.
If you haven’t seen the first season of Kimi ni Todoke I think it’s really worth watching as long as you are ok with shojo high school comic romance. Nothing too serious is going on in this story, just relationships and young love. The story centers around a young girl named Sawako Kuronuma who is ostracized by her classmates because of her resemblance to a character called Sadako from a Japanese horror film series called Ring.
What I don’t really understand is the reason she looks like Sadako from the horror film is that she’s thin and has long straight black hair. Isn’t that like 95% of the women in Japan?
New Range Murata designed anime coming.
Posted by: | CommentsRange Murata is a very popular and talented illustrator who may best be known for his design work for the anime Last Exile has been confirmed as a character designer for a new 2011 anime by Gonzo.
Anime News Network’s update on this information also include an image of a bookcover given to stockholders that was illustrated by Range Murata featuring one of the new characters designed for this upcoming series.
Range’s art style features a heavy art deco style that really separates his work from other illustrators. He has released over a dozen art books, contributed to design work for a number of video games, as well as having had figures made of his designs. Some of his work can be seen below. News – Mitsudomoe gets 2nd season.

I’ve just heard that the anime Mitsudomoe got approved for a 2nd season. Currently the 10th episode of season 1 was just aired and this is one of the shows I’m really enjoying this season.
Mitsudomoe is about three troublesom sisters (Mitsuba, Futaba, and Hitoha) who are in the sixth grade and the trouble they cause for their newly hired teacher, Satoshi Yabe. When I first heard of this show I thought it would be similar to the anime Ichigo Mashimaro but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Ichigo Mashimaro featured the cute and adorable side of elementary school aged girls but Mitsudomoe shows off a more hard malicious side of them.
The show is very funny but many of the jokes are adult in nature so it’s not a show you would enjoy if you are easily offended. I’m happy that there will be a 2nd season for us to enjoy but one big question I have is – where are the Mitsudomeo figures???
