It’s been a little while since I’ve had a chance to post. I’m working on a few things, including getting figures up for sale finally. (Yea!). I’m a little late with this information but coming soon in Dolpa 25 Volks is going to be releasing two new Dollfie Dream girls from the Japanese RPG called Shining Hearts.
I haven’t had the pleasure of playing Shining Hearts – it’s not officially released in the US and there is not a legal English version of the game as far as I’m aware of. I would love to get the chance to play it to see what the characters are like. I even just recently purchased a PSP in hopes of being able to “figure out a way” to play the game but I haven’t had any luck yet. Anyway, back to the girls…
The two new girls are going to be Airy and Neris. They are sisters who work in a bakery and each have their own special baking skills. There is also a third sister called Amiru in the game but she’s not being made as a Dollfie Dream girl – not yet at least. I’m not sure how accurate this information is but Airy dresses in a modified Nun’s habit that is very cute and she also had a large metal Bible. I’m guessing she may be some type of healer in the game such as a priestess. Her sister Neris seems to be a hunter/ranger character as she’s frequently seen with a bow. If I’m wrong please let me know in the comments.
Late last year I mentioned how the Genshiken manga was continuing and how excited I am about that. I recently saw more good news, the K-On! manga is going to start up again!!!
I saw the good news on Sankaku Complex which is a great site but be warned, it’s not very safe for work. There doesn’t seem to be much information yet on what the restarted manga will cover though I think most people suspect, and hope for, a continuation of their current story following the girls past High School to college. If that’s what they end up doing I wonder how they will handle Azunyan’s time stuck in High School as she’s a year behind the other girls?
I know there are a number of people who don’t like K-On! and call it pointless and simply a “moeblob” anime but I think they may be missing the point. I’ll agree that the show is filled with moe characters and situations, just look at the animated gif of Yui doing her Un-Tan dance. The show is also about friendship and having fun in school. If the K-On! was simply a mindless display of cuteness without substance I don’t believe there would have been as many people saying how emotional they got, even to the point of crying, at the last few episodes. No matter what you may think of the show you can’t honestly deny that K-On! is very loved by it’s many fans.
I had forgotten that today was the day that Volks USA would be sending out emails to let people know they had won the chance to buy their desired item from Dolpa 24. As it was a little slow at work I got a chance to get on twitter for a moment and saw a tweet from Wolfheinrich about it and then I remembered – I went to check my email right away but nothing.
Wolfheinrich is a true king when it comes to collecting Dollfie’s. He has already managed to get a Dollfie Dream Saber Lily a short time ago so he could take it easy today while the rest of us worried about why we hadn’t received any emails yet. Did I mention that he has a lot of Dollfie Dreams? I think Saber Lily is his 19th!
After an hour or so of work I started seeing people get congratulated for getting the email from Volks saying that they got Saber Lily. I rushed to my email and guess what I saw:
I adopted Dollfie Dream Sakura a few months ago and I’ve been feeling the desire for her to have a Sister. The trouble is, which one? There are so many great DD’s to look at when considering adopting one but some of my favorites were priced way out of my reach. I’ve wanted Saber for a long time but with some of her prices going into the range of $4,000 I knew there was no way that was going to happen. Untill recently.
The other day it was announced that on December 12 at Dolpa 24 (Doll Party 24) in Japan Volks will be selling Dollfie Dream Saber Lily. Yes, this will be their 3rd edition of Saber that is going to come out!!! I am very excited as this gives me a chance to get Saber at the original price before it gets inflated in the 2nd hand market:
“Love Plus” is a dating simulation game for the Nintendo DS where you get to flirt and eventually date one of the three available girls in the game. The game has gained a huge following in Japan but so far has not been available in other languages.
The Nintendo DS has pretty good graphics but it’s starting to show it’s age a little. This isn’t a huge disadvantage with a game such as Love Plus which relies on drawing you into the game through emotional attachment and not fancy graphics. Here you can see a sample video from the original game:
