New Kimono for my DD girls.

Posted by: | Comments (2)

I got a special treat in the mail today, a beautiful new hand made Kimono for my girls.  My comrade Balldylox, who I first met online at Figure.fm, has a friend named Ann that has started making doll clothes for Dollfie Dream dolls.

She has recently started to make custom clothes and I was able to get 2 pairs of really cute looking pajamas for my girls – I’ll post those in a future update.   What I also got is a simply fantastic blue kimono that she made for me!  I got it in tonight and I’m so happy with how it turned out.  I regret not buying a 2nd one now with the other material she had.  :)

I took some pictures of Sakura in it tonight.  Please forgive some of the photos.  I recently got a new camera (I will do a post about that in the near future as well) and also got a new lighting setup that I’m trying to get used to.  I think they came out pretty good considering all the new and unfamiliar equipment I’m using.  Click on the thumbnail below to see a larger version of that image:

In the last few pics you can see Sakura wearing her new pink/white bra and panty set I was able to get at Volks US recent Dolls Party 24 Regular Items sale.  I also got a cute blue/white stripped set that Yukino is wearing at this moment.  Poor Yukino is still only an M bust so it’s a little loose on her top – I think she will need to be up-sized in the near future.

Like most Otaku, I love to collect things.  Anime figures, manga, anime DVDs, art books, Dollfie Dream clothes, musical instruments….   You get the idea.  Otaku also love showing off their collections to others and things like twitter, flickr, and facebook make that very easy to do.   This desire to photograph my collections led me into a new hobby, photography.  I now own 2 DSLR cameras, light stands and umbrellas, 2 Nikon speed lights, and reflectors.  I guess I’m a photography Otaku now as well.

DSLR’s are fantastic, not just for the amazing quality of image they can make but for the versatility they give you.  Being able to change lenses for different situations and purposes lets you have the control to try to make the best possible picture possible.  There is one down side though, changing the lens means that at some time you will get dust in the body of the camera and it’s going to eventually find it’s way to your camera’s sensor.  The sensor in a DSLR is what takes the place of film.  It records the light of the real world and turns it into pixels.  If dust gets on your sensor it will block the view it has of the world.
