New Dollfie daughter #4 – Welcome Yoko!

Episode 24 of K-On!! aired just a few weeks ago and it contained one of the most touching songs from the Houkago Tea Time girls called “Tenshi ni Fureta yo!” They four seniors wrote and preformed the song for Azunyan who is a year behind them and would not be graduating with them. It’s a very good song and a wonderful touching statement to their kohai (underclassman) who was feeling sad about being left behind after her friends graduate.
Someone recently recreated the scene using Figma figures and stop animation and it’s really pretty amazing. It’s no where near professional level but considering the amount of work involved to do something like this it’s really amazing and shows the love that Otaku can have for anime. I’m sure their passion for K-On! kept them working for many many hours to complete it.

Sure, there are a number of problems in the video and sometimes background furniture moves on it’s own (hehe) but it’s still rather amazing.

It was a busy week but an exciting one. I’ve placed my first order for products and I’m getting things ready to have the store go live!!!
I ran into some issues about how to handle the shipping to my warehouse, getting the orders to process the deliveries once they come in… Thankfully I think I have that sorted out and in a few days I should be able to do a complete test order, including product delivery, to make sure every step of the process from website to opening the package is working 100%.
I kept my first order small so it would be easier to work out any problems in the process if they show up. Another reason is that since I’m not the owner of a huge anime empire with endless resources available I really couldn’t afford to buy thousands of products. I’ll be adding more in a few weeks if everything goes fine and then, little by little, increasing the inventory every few weeks.
Photoshoot – Saki Kasukaba from Genshiken

I’ve finally gotten around to editing a few more photos and decided to post some shots of Saki Kasukabe, the violent non-otaku from my favorite anime – Genshiken. If you haven’t seen the show yet go watch it now. (hehe)
It’s a fantastic show that I’ve talked about before. Saki is the only member of the Genshiken club who is not an Otaku, she’s only a member because her boyfriend joined the club and was eventually blackmailed into joining.
This figure depicts Saki Cosplaying as “Ritsuko Kübel Kettenkrad”, the president of the student council from the fictitious anime called Kujibiki Unbalance with the Genshiken universe. What makes this figure especially fun is that Saki is not an Otaku and has no interest in Cosplaying at all. She was forced to do this and ends up winning the contest because her natural aggressive characteristics are perfectly matched to the character she’s dressed as.

Photoshoot – Kamichu!
Posted by: | CommentsWell, it’s been a tough week and my main system is up and running and I think I recovered all of my data but my system still isn’t running at 100% yet. Thankfully I did recover the shots I took of my figures so I thought I’d post my first photoshoot of one of my favorite figures I own. This is Yurie, the main character from the 2005 anime called Kamichu!
If you haven’t seen Kamichu! and you like lighthearted feel-good shows you should do whatever you can to watch this show. The main story line is that the girl in the center, Yurie Hitotsubashi, suddenly discovers that she is a god and tries to figure out what she should be doing about it. This isn’t a spoiler of any kind, almost the very first line in the first episode is when she tells her friend what she’s discovered about herself.
