As I was in the process of writing another blog post Friday (2 days ago) I had a problem with my computer.  I lost access to my 1 terabyte internal data storage drive.  My main system uses 2 – 150 gig, 10,000 rpm drives in Raid 0 (zero) for the O/S but I have a 1 TB Western Digital drive in my case for easy storage for files I use frequently.  (I also have about 6 TB of external case drives as well – I’m a bit of a data hoarder.)

I noticed I couldn’t see my internal storage drive any longer, it wasn’t recognized at all.  I had just received an update to my PC and was hoping it was just a glitch.  I saved everything and did a complete reboot but the drive never came back!  Hoping it was just a loose cable and not a dead drive I took the PC apart, did a good cleaning, and then put it all together.  Even worse now, I couldn’t get the PC to POST now.  After a few hours testing I’m pretty sure it’s the mother board.

I own a few computers but my main PC is always one that I build myself.  It’s been a few years since I put it together so I guess I was due for an upgrade anyway.  Being my main PC, it’s also my gaming machine so I need some power.  Right now I’m still addicted to Team Fortress 2 but I did just Pre-Order APB which looks like it’s going to be real fun.  Check out the demo video below.
