K-On! manga to continue.
Posted by: | Comments
Late last year I mentioned how the Genshiken manga was continuing and how excited I am about that. I recently saw more good news, the K-On! manga is going to start up again!!!
I saw the good news on Sankaku Complex which is a great site but be warned, it’s not very safe for work. There doesn’t seem to be much information yet on what the restarted manga will cover though I think most people suspect, and hope for, a continuation of their current story following the girls past High School to college. If that’s what they end up doing I wonder how they will handle Azunyan’s time stuck in High School as she’s a year behind the other girls?
I know there are a number of people who don’t like K-On! and call it pointless and simply a “moeblob” anime but I think they may be missing the point. I’ll agree that the show is filled with moe characters and situations, just look at the animated gif of Yui doing her Un-Tan dance. The show is also about friendship and having fun in school. If the K-On! was simply a mindless display of cuteness without substance I don’t believe there would have been as many people saying how emotional they got, even to the point of crying, at the last few episodes. No matter what you may think of the show you can’t honestly deny that K-On! is very loved by it’s many fans.
Will Saber Lily be Sakura’s new sister?

I adopted Dollfie Dream Sakura a few months ago and I’ve been feeling the desire for her to have a Sister. The trouble is, which one? There are so many great DD’s to look at when considering adopting one but some of my favorites were priced way out of my reach. I’ve wanted Saber for a long time but with some of her prices going into the range of $4,000 I knew there was no way that was going to happen. Untill recently.
The other day it was announced that on December 12 at Dolpa 24 (Doll Party 24) in Japan Volks will be selling Dollfie Dream Saber Lily. Yes, this will be their 3rd edition of Saber that is going to come out!!! I am very excited as this gives me a chance to get Saber at the original price before it gets inflated in the 2nd hand market:
First Post!!!
Posted by: | CommentsI guess I should start out by introducing myself. My name is James and I’m an Otaku. No, this isn’t A. A. and I’m not trying to be cured. I came to being an Otaku rather late. I didn’t get really into anime till I was in my early 30′s I guess. Some co-worker had introduced me to some anime such as Ninja Scroll or Akira and while I thought it was interesting it didn’t do much for me. It reminded me very much of the 1981 movie Heavy Metal. Interesting but not very fun. It just didn’t suite my personal taste.
That all changed when I mentioned that to the co-worker and he said “Well, how about a comedy?“ I didn’t know there was anime comedy. I guess I would have assumed there was but I hadn’t heard of any at that time. He loaned me Hand Maid May and I was instantly addicted. I watched that like 3 times all the way in about a week. I then started buying DVD’s: Love Hina, Please Teacher!, Ai Yori Aoshi, Martian Successor Nadesico… I couldn’t stop. My DVD collection started to grow and I soon found I wasn’t watching any regular TV. Eventually I gave up regular TV and only was watching anime or some select British comedies. (I just can’t give up my I.T. Crowd or Father Ted.)
I soon got into manga, doujinshi, dating sims, and of course figure collecting. I was immediately drawn to the figures for their ability to always have a real life representation of a character you have grown so fond of from an anime. Seeing that character on display would always put me in a better mood. Now with the higher quality adjustable figures such as Figma and Revoltech you can even create scenes from the show and then change it around another day.
I guess it was only natural that I’ve decided to start a business related to anime. My hobbies and passions all are somewhat connected to anime and manga so it only makes sense. This blog is tied to the Otaku Depot store and will serve as a place for me to share my love for anime, manage and all things a devoted Otaku would crave.
At this time I’m still in the final stages of getting the store up and running. I’m now working on finding the best warehouse service to process and send out the orders from the online store. It’s taking a while to find a service that meets all the needs of the site.
